The World Championship will be held from June 8-10 live from The Copper Box Arena in London

The year just keeps getting better for the UK esports scene, as Psyonix has announced the Rocket League World Championships will be held in London. 

After two years in North America, the Rocket League Championship Series is heading across the Atlantic to London for the Season 5 World Championship.

It joins the ESL One Birmingham Dota 2 Major and the FACEIT CS:GO London Major as yet another huge tournament to be held in the UK in 2018.

The World Championship will be held from June 8-10 live from The Copper Box Arena in London.

It'll be the first time the event has been held in London, where Rocket League's ten best teams will be competing for the crown, and a share of the $250,000 prize pool.

Current World Champions Gale Force eSports will be there, along with Renault Vitality, Team EnVyUs, and compLexity Gaming from Europe.

The North American teams at the event will be G2 Esports, NRG Esports, Cloud9, and Evil Geniuses. The two Oceania teams will be decided this weekend.  

The Copper Box Arena is starting to become more and more of an esports venue, after hosting DreamHack in London, as well as the Clash Royale World Championships in December 2017. 

That weekend alone is a big one for esports in London, as the ECS Season 5 CS:GO finals will be held at the SSE Arena, Wembley, on June 9-10.
